Categories are a brand-level setting that organize your product catalog and affect how pricing works. Every product belongs to a category, and categories determine whether products are sold by weight, by unit, or both. Set these up before adding products.
Creating a Category
Click "Add Category" and fill in:
- Name — e.g., "Flower", "Edibles", "Concentrates"
- Weight-based pricing — For products sold by weight (grams, ounces). Enable for flower, concentrates, etc.
- Unit-based pricing — For products sold as individual units with labeled variants. Enable for edibles, pre-rolls, cartridges, etc.
- Has strain type — Products have a strain classification (Sativa, Indica, Hybrid).

Categories can be added, edited, or reordered at any time. They're shared across all locations.
